Born in Hyogo in 1958. Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University, where he currently serves as professor. After working for Tanaka Ikko Design Studio, established his own studio, Akita Design Kan in 1991. Major works include graphic design for Issey Miyake and Toto, signage for Park Hyatt Seoul, book and logo design. Awards received include the JAGDA New Designer Award, the Tokyo ADC Hara Hiromu Award, the NY ADC Silver Prize, and many more.
