Awatsuji Misa
Born in Tokyo in 1965. Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Graphic Design. Earned a masters degree in design at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Established Awatsuji Design in 1995. Works range from branding, packaging, editorial, signage and space planning. Member of Japan Typography Association. Part-time lecturer at Joshibi Art University.
About the design
In October, autumn deepens and we feel the end of the year approaching. We say it is a season of athletic meets, but nothing special comes to my mind, because it is just an ordinary day for me. To make myself more conscious of the day, I counted the days from the beginning of the year. It is the 277th day. Figures are clear: it is actually in the last phase of a year, and what's more, there are just eighty-eight days left. October 4 turned out to be such an auspicious day.
