Kusagaya Takafumi
Born in 1963. Founded Kusagaya Design in 1996. Awards include the Asahi Advertising Award Silver Prize in 1994 and 2008, the Asahi Advertising Award Grand Prix in 2009, the JAGDA New Designer Award in 1995, and the Good Design Category Award in 2002 and others.
About the design
I was given a chance to try new printing technology, so I tried to bring both modern Japanese elements and Western approach into graophic design. I used three different sides: one in orange, green, and purple which is said to be difficult to reproduce; one in black with delicate matiere; and one in flat gray. I aimed for a universal design that does not make you feel time axis.
