Born in Seoul in 1931. Graduated from Kanazawa College of Art. After working at Dentsu, currently serves as professor emeritus of Tama Art University. Member of Tokyo ADC. Recepient of the Tokyo ADC Award, the Asahi Advertising Award, the Dentsu Advertising Award, the NY ADC Award, and many more. His work is collected at the MoMA.

About the design

My assignment neither excited me nor inspiered my creativity: January 19 is just an ordinary day, and Process Double Tones allows me to use only two colors from CMYK. However I've been a designer since 1950. I decided to try an expression by shapes, instead of colors.
