One of the first students to attend the Graduate School, Tokyo University of the Arts. Professor emeritus at Tohoku University of Art & Design. Creates and studies letters and design from a playful perspective. Works include CI direction, product deveopment, graphics for Fujisankei Communications Group, NEC, Seibu, etc. Winner of the World Calender Award, the Tokyo Invention Award and more. Published more than 20 books and contributes design puzzle for newspapers for 20 years.
About the design
For November 20, I came up with an idea to make the equation with these four figures 1120 without changing their order. Instantly I realized it could be proved by addition, but that was too simple so I racked my brains out again. After all, I stopped twisting them believing that “Simple is Best.”
