Born in Nagoya in 1951. Established his own studio in 1983. Member of NY ADC and Tokyo TDC. Won numerous awards including the Tokyo ADC Award, the JAGDA New Designer Award, the NY ADC Gold Prize, and the Warsaw International Poster Biennale Gold and Special Prizes. Launched “Merry Project” in 1999, introducing the photos of children’s smiles at 2005 Aichi Expo and 2008 Beijing Olympics.
About the design
I visualised what Merry Project asks to people, “What is Merry to you?,” and a merry-go-round whitch wraps up the earth with smiles. With some space for you to put the answer, it's a calender you can contribute.
