Born in Tokyo in 1939. Established his own studio in 1969. Awards include the Asahi Advertising Award in 1963 and 1964, the International Biennial of Graphic Design Brno Gold Prize in 1982, the Warsaw International Poster Biennale Gold Prize in 1987, the NY ADC International Exhibition Gold Prize in 1992, and the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 2006. Designed a poster for the Winter Olympic Games in Nagano 1998. Member of AGI. Committee member of Tokyo ADC, and Director of JAGDA.

About the design

I regarded this page as a print sample/experiment, rather than a functional calendar. Not so many people use push pins lately, but beautifully coloured pins caught my eye so I ended up using them as a material for design.
